Why does this reading illustrate Logos, Pathos, and/or Ethos?

I personally choose this article because to me it is sad to know that is reported that in the last decade, the crimes of physical and sexual assault have increased, in the United States are reported more than 80,000 cases a year of sexual abuse of children, but the number of cases that are not reported is even greater, since children are afraid to tell someone what happened to them, and the legal process to verify reports is difficult. The problem exists and must be identified to put an end to the abuse and the child should receive professional help. The physical and emotional harm in the long term can be devastating.
Ethos is demonstrated by the research conducted by Dr. Eduardo R. Hernandez Gonzalez Pediatrician and Child Behavioral psychotherapist by interviewing several children that has suffer a sexual assault
For logos I think Sexual abuse occurs in three contexts: Domestic: is when it occurs in the family at the hands of a father, a stepfather, sibling or other relative. Family: when away from home for a friend, the caregiver, a teacher, or a stranger. Commercial Sexual Exploitation: when the child is subjected to sexual practices for economic benefit of an adult according to Dr. Eduardo.
This article also demonstrated pathos when Dr. Hernandez said that some of these kids had been persuaded or threatened not to talk. Because of shame or guilt, if they believe accomplices or that has caused the facts. They think that no one is going to believe or that are going to be punished for that. Also he said this depend on the age of the abused, the type of link with the abuser and the societal perceptions about children and sexuality. And here are some reasons for the silence: there is no old enough to understand what is happening. Don't know express with words what happened. In conclusion it remains only say that the best crime prevention is to remember that our children are our responsibility, and that we must have on them adequate supervision, an appropriate system of open communication and be attentive to any change of conduct not expected for their age.

Define Logos, Pathos, & Ethos & give an example of each. How can knowing about Logos, Pathos, & Ethos help your writing?

It is impossible to know for certain what is going to persuade someone. All respond differently. However, there are categories of persuasion to improve our chances for our audience to our way of thinking. Aristotle gave us three classical approaches: ethos, pathos and logos. Ads are the more modern approach, known for its use in charts and graphs in the 1992 presidential campaign of Ross Perot: statistics. Perot uses statistics graphs as the main argument, and his explanation was secondary.
The Greek word ethos "ethos" refers to the character that defines a person. In the context of the rhetoric, ethos can be thought of as the persuasion through the credibility, as Andrew Dlugan explains in his article in "Six minutes". Use ethos in the persuasion means qualify a statement with credentials. An argument could be preceded by titles and achievements of an author. Ethos can also be used in the manner in which an author communicates. If your voice is authorized if it sounds like an expert the public is more willing to give it the credibility of an expert.
Pathos is the use of emotion in persuasion. The authors often use anecdotes trying to get an audience of sympathize with your situation. In a sense, much of the literature is a test that uses pathos to make an argument. We sympathize with notables, by what we see things from their point of view. Similarly, in the trials that use pathos, we are forced to "put ourselves in the shoes of another person".
Logos" is a term from the classical Greek that means "word" or "logic". This is the most important tool in the drafting of texts: make a statement and then support it with evidence. The argument of support is the "logos". The author is about to the audience through the logic of your statement. If the logic cannot be criticized or is not an error, the conclusion is generally accepted.
Statistics are closely related to the logos. The statistics by themselves are not always used to support an assertion. I believe without the context of a logical argument, may be little more than organized data. In the context of a discussion, the statistics may provide the logos of a test, can consolidate an argument. The source of statistics uses ethos. The narration invokes pathos. In the fund, however, appealing to our logic.

Explain how you adapt your speech & writing for different people. Why are thesis statements and PEE structure important for academic audiences?

It is important to know how a relevant content you can generate recurring readers. What is important is that it is a memorable content, attractive and causing a large number of visitors, but also, that motivates and encourages readers to share it. The main idea to write for the audience is to know what catches the attention of the readers that penetrates in their minds, what moves the engine of the action to share it. When writing for different or academic audiences there is very important to use a thesis statement and the PPE (point, evidence, and explanation) structure. A statement of the thesis is the sum of a sentence or two of information, analysis or argument that is contained in an academic paper, informative article or in a newspaper. This thesis, in general, is the last part of a paragraph of introduction and provides a summary of the entire document in one or two sentences.  The PPE is used to form paragraphs for the thesis statement. The three components support the process of writing by making it clear. This components support each other like the “point” supports the thesis statement, the “evidence” is in charge of supporting the point, and the “explanation” is in charge of supporting the evidence. That’s why is very important when writing a paper or anything to use this process to help you to state what are you writing about.

Describe your usual writing process

Well I think that when I am trying to write an essay or any kind of paper I have to be in a quiet place and make sure I would not get disturb. When I get disturbed I lose my concentration and forget about what I am doing. Before I start writing I like to relax and think about how and where I have to start writing my paper.
I believe I would call it borderline writers block for the fact that I don’t write the topics. I like to think about it and literally brainstorm. My main concern is to let the readers know what my paper is about. I think known what are you writing and known also what the reader is looking for is a good starting to write. I think I would take advantage of this class since I have lots to learn about writing. Hopefully by the end of this class my writing skills have improved. I think I would be the first one to admit that I have never been a good writer but, I have faith that I can change this. I am working in getting a game plan to make sure I can achieve my goals that I have set up for this class.
